How many of you have noticed a change in the page load speed today since morning?

This site was earlier hosted on a shared server but now moved it to a VPS.

Not a very highend VPS but it is doing the job right now, pages seem to be loading fine at my end.

I did notice a big difference, it didint occur to me that you may have changed hosting. I thought it was my internet connection that is very fast today LOL.

Pages are loading lightening fast, it feels like website is hosted next door somewhere.

The new VPS is equipped with a miniscule 1GB RAM, NVMe storage for faster reading and writing speed. We also now have Cloudflare enterprise that serves full caches pages from the edge locations and on server side we now have Varnish. Redis to cache queries. Theres a lot of other improvements aswell besides these. I had to work a lot on this because 1GB RAM is too low and I thought lets just run on low RAM and manage memory usage some how, will see if forum slows down then will get a bigger VPS but for now this set up is working great.

Ive been a member for some time here and the page loads felt laggy earlier but no more. Speed has improved considerably. This was verymuch needed as the forum is growing.

Forum pages are indeed very quick to load both when logged in and logged out.

I have a question for @Admin : Why Cloudflare enterprise? It is $200 per month! Cant get my head around it.

There is a Cloudflare free option too. There is a $20 per month plan too. Why spending $200 per month?

The server specs are tiny and so much expense on CDN? Please enlighten me.

Cloudflare enterprise is provided as an addon by many companies for a lot cheaper. I got it for $5 per month.

For this amount of traffic the 1GB RAM server is holding up pretty well. Will upgrade it to 2 or 4GB when visitors increase but even then if there is a slowdown on the site otherwise its a well oiled machine and will take traffic spikes well.

Nginx + Cloudflare not a bad combination but site would gain in performance if we used litespeed with Lscache.

Varnish cache doesnt help xenforo in any way. It is highly dynamic pages.Litespeed cache would do wonders.

80% or more people are from India here and hosting in India with litespeed server would reduce the loading times furthur although site doesnt feel slow here in the US right now due to Cloudflare edge cache when logged out but as I am logged in, cloudflare does not cache full page so its a 400-500ms TTFB for me, I am sure it would be less than 100 in India if someone could check.

It is a very small forum although growing fast and hosting is at cloudways and money has been added for the next few months in advance. The only option right now is getting a bigger VPS which is not needed right now due to very little visitors. Once we start hitting 30-40 members online at one time then will upgrade to a bigger VPS.

Yes, Litespeed would be a greta choice but we need to use up the money that is paid in advance to Cloudways.

I will request Admin to consider changing mail service as it is becoming an annoyance.
